The analyzers now also detect lithium. The LIBS analyzers have lower detection limits and can analyze more alloys, including aluminum grades such as 1100, 6061, and 6063, as well as aluminum and silicon brasses and bronzes, and beryllium in copper, the company says. 

The KT-100S analyzer has a “drill down” feature that allows it to automatically burn through imperfections and dust on the surface of metal to obtain a clean reading, Rigaku says. With their military standard 810G drop-test certification and IP-54 dust protection rating, the analyzers are suited for rough environments such as recycling yards. Visit
