Michelin, Others Invest in Chemical Recycler

Pyrowave (Montreal) has received series B investments to bring its modular chemical recycling technology to market from Michelin (Clermont-Ferrand, France) and venture capital firms Sofinnova Partners (Paris) and Ecofuel (Montreal).
Pyrowave’s microwave-based depolymerization technology converts postindustrial and postconsumer polystyrene, expanded polystyrene, and high-impact polystyrene scrap into a recycled styrene monomer that can be used in the production of synthetic rubber as well as in new PS, latex, and other plastics, Pyrowave says.
