Alcohol Producer Switches to Recycled PET Bottles

Beer and spirits producer Diageo North America (New York) will begin using 100% recycled PET plastic for all Seagram’s 7 Crown products it sells in plastic bottles, a move the company says will help it meet its sustainability goals and reduce its virgin plastic use by about 1,000 tons a year.
It will start selling the new bottles by the end of June, the company says. It aims to achieve 40% recycled content in its plastic bottles by 2025 and 100% by 2030.

In 2019, Diageo announced it would reduce plastic packaging in its other beverage brands, including replacing plastic rings and shrink wrap on its Guinness brand beers with cardboard alternatives. Visit
