Recycled Roofing Company Makes Plastic Face Shields

In June, EcoStar (Holland, N.Y.) announced it has shifted some of its injection molding manufacturing lines from making recycled roofing products to making protective face shields for local hospitals and other essential workers.
It reports producing 2,000 face shields a day, which it makes from virgin polymers. It has donated shields “to multiple locations,” a spokesperson says, and it is now selling them to the public. EcoStar produces slate and shake roofing products from up to 80% postindustrial rubber and plastic. Visit
