Corrugated packaging producer Saica Group (Zaragoza, Spain) starts construction on its first North American facility near Cincinnati, Ohio, in September, the company says.
The $72 million, 350,000-square-foot corrugated packaging plant, which it plans to open in spring 2022, will consume 66,000 tons of recovered paper annually as well as virgin fiber, a source from the company told Resource Recycling. The company expects the project to create 64 new jobs in the area.
Saica Group selected Hamilton, Ohio, due its location and a range of tax credits the state and city will offer, Ramon Alejandro, chairman of Saica Group, stated in a release. Visit www.saica.com or resource-recycling.com.
