JSW Steel to Restart Ohio EAF Mill in March 2021

JSW Steel USA (Baytown, Texas) plans to resume production at its electric-arc furnace sheet mill in Mingo Junction, Ohio, by March 2021, the company has stated.

The facility was idled in July due to low demand. When it reopens, the mill will be outfitted with upgrades meant to improve its environmental impact and improve safety, quality, and productivity, CEO Mark Bush told Fastmarkets AMM. It will produce “melted and manufactured” slabs that will largely supply its other facility in Baytown, Texas, he said. JSW Steel USA also plans to resume operations at that facility in the first quarter of 2021, Bush confirmed to Fastmarkets.
