Mazza Recycling Unveils New Single-Stream Recycling Center

Mazza Recycling Services (Tinton Falls, N.J.) has opened a new single-stream recycling center in Tinton Falls.

The 55-acre property contains a 70,000-square-foot, partially solar-powered materials recovery facility and transfer station. The MRF—the first with complete positive sorting on the East Coast, Mazza says—accepts and sorts metal, glass, plastics, paper, and cardboard. It can process about 130,000 tons of recyclables a year, producing streams of mixed paper; OCC; plastic Nos. 1, 2, and 5; glass; aluminum; and other metals, according to news reports. The facility also accepts appliances, furniture, tires, and construction and demolition materials for recycling there and at its other recycling divisions, including a scrap metal facility in Neptune, N.J. The new facility is part of Mazza’s commitment to invest $15 million in single-stream recycling and recover more recyclable material in Monmouth County, the company says. Visit
