  • Eco-Flex (Sturgeon County, Alberta) plans to soon break ground on a 25,000-square-foot manufacturing plant near Lampasas, Texas, to produce 100%-recycled rubber products that include sound barrier walls, sidewalk blocks, and patio blocks as well as products used in the construction, oil and gas, mining, and power generation industries.
  • Kimball Equipment Co. (Salt Lake City, Utah) is now the exclusive sales, service, and support company for crushing, screening, and washing equipment from Superior Industries (Morris, Minn.) in Utah, Nevada, Arizona, and Southern Idaho.
  • Beer and spirits producer Diageo North America (New York) will begin using 100% recycled PET plastic for all Seagram’s 7 Crown products it sells in plastic bottles, a move the company says will help it meet its sustainability goals and reduce its virgin plastic use by about 1,000 tons a year.
  • The International Atomic Energy Agency (Vienna) has launched an e-learning module to help metal recyclers worldwide identify and safely manage radioactive material that might arrive at scrap recycling facilities in the incoming scrap stream.
